Comfortable discomfort
I feel a deep expressive urge. My work is about what you don't see but what you do feel. Moments of insight, confrontational thoughts, pain points, vulnerability. But also snippets of everyday happiness.

To understand the world, you must first understand your own mind. That leads to uncomfortable feelings and awkward moments. But it's precisely that discomfort that makes it interesting.

Adventure
Apart from the narrative aspect, painting is an adventure for me. Exploring and discovering form, tension, combinations, new techniques, materials, etc. That whole thing is fascinating.

I work organically. I don't plan much in advance and try to see the interesting parts that arise, leave them for what they are, or develop them further.
